More than you care to know: I am primarily a photographer, but have taken a recent "detour" into the realm of drawing. I used to draw a lot as a child, becme disenfranchised as a teenager and recently took up art again. I have separate gallery on another server which is reserved primarily for my photography.
Favorite subjects include dogs, airplanes, trains, boats and the occasional fan art piece. This marks my first return to drawing in twenty years.
OK, so I am back in school for the second year. It is supposed to be easier the second year, since you know the routine, classes, instructors etc, but somehow, it just isn't.
Yesterday, I had my class on the history of the French language with a professor who thinks that we know as much as he does. He should have gotten a clue when he was that the class was constantly asking questions and asking him to rephrase things, but, of course, he didn't. I asked him about the assingment at the end of clas, and he couldn't even explain that. Plus, he has this really annoying habit of trailing off and getting softer and softer at the end of sentences. Well, I got out of that class and I had never felt so lost in my life. I was more furstrated than pissed off, but I have not felt so helpless since I was in high school. To give a metaphor, I felt like I was navigating an unknown ocean in a leaky boat without a compass or a chart. I actually found myself crying at the end of class, I was so lost. What's worse, I had a whole 90 mile drive home to think about this whole thing. It didn't help that I had cramps either.
Why dod people love to show off their knowledge like that when they are supposed to be TEACHING us what they know, not expecting us to know what they do. Hell, if we knew as much as they did, would we be sitting in the classroom listening to them? I don't think so...
Thanks for the comment! And that's not Belle btw, it's my charatcer Sydal. She looks a lot like Belle, but she has long eyelashes on the bottom of her eyes.
